M.A (Education) · M.Ed (SEN) · PGCE · NPQSL

I am an experienced and committed SEN specialist with over 30 years of working with young people with autism and other neurodiverse needs. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to support students across mainstream, international, specialist and post-16 specialist provision, developing a deep understanding of the importance of personalised, compassionate and effective support.

My professional journey has included roles as teacher, SENCo and Headteacher in mainstream, specialist and post-16 specialist settings. These experiences have given me the opportunity to lead teams, work closely with families and professionals, and help create learning environments where young people feel understood, valued and able to succeed.

At the heart of my work is a strong belief in the potential of every young person. I am passionate about supporting neurodiverse students, especially those with autism, and I continue to value approaches that are respectful, inclusive and centred on everyone’s strengths. I understand how schools work as a teacher but also importantly through leadership and feel that with the right support all schools can make education a positive experience for children and young people with SEN.

Through Catalyst SEN Consultancy, I intend  to make a positive difference by supporting children, young people and adults, as well as families, schools, care providers, local authorities and other interested parties.

I  can offer school audits , specialist advice and training around neurodiversity in the classroom  , problem solving for individual children , mediation with parents , specialist work with young people or families , EHCP and SEN law advice and tribunal reports or advice .
